Course Description

This 6-week course is aimed at people wishing to set up or work in a community garden and allow them to share their knowledge with other learners. During the course we will consider what is needed to develop a shared growing space and how it is to be designed, built and maintained. Starting from theoretical principles you will develop a design for a growing space on a housing estate. Your plan will be used in the development of the final design, and you will have the opportunity to discuss your design with residents. We will visit community gardens nearby to think about how to design and develop a garden from scratch and to consider potential challenges and opportunities presented by community gardening. If gardening is your passion and you’ve always wanted to design and develop a garden for everyone, this amazing free course is for you. Join quickly spaces are limited!
