For experienced sewers

Starts 5 Nov
10 British pounds
Kidbrooke Community Hub, 8 Pegler Square, London SE3 9GR

Course Description

NB This course is not for complete beginners. You must have completed other GCDA sewing courses to take part. This course: COMMERCIAL PATTERN EXTENSION COURSE – PYJAMAS NB – for more experienced sewers only – you must have completed one of our previous commercial pattern courses. If you’ve already attended one of our commercial pattern courses and fancy having a go at making something slightly more complex (or if you feel experienced enough to give this a go) then try our commercial pattern progression course and make yourself a pair of stylish Merchant and Mills pyjamas using the popular Winnie pattern. These pyjamas are the perfect winter project. The top comes with short or long sleeves, and the bottoms can also be made in two lengths. The great thing about this pattern is that it can also work as a shirt, or even a jacket, depending on the fabric you use. This is a great opportunity to extend your skills – you’ll create a collar, make facings and buttonholes, and even add a patch pocket too if you want to. The pattern is available in UK sizes 6-28 and is available either as a PDF or a paper pattern. The pattern costs from £12.95 for the PDF version. Please let us know if you feel the cost of the pattern would prevent you from attending the course and we will do our best to find a work around. https://merchantandmills.com/uk/the-winnie-pdf NB PLEASE ENSURE YOU BUY THE CORRECT SIZE PATTERN AS IT COMES IN TWO SIZE OPTIONS – CHECK THE MEASUREMENT CHART FIRST PLEASE ALSO ENSURE YOU CHOOSE EITHER PDF (WHICH YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT OUR YOURSELF AND STICK TOGETHER) OR PAPER (TRADITIONAL PAPER PATTERN THAT COMES READY PRINTED) Please note we now require a £10.00 deposit which is refunded on completion of the course and on request. If this is a problem, please contact: learning@gcda.org.uk. Please bring your proof of ID & NI number to the first session of the course, as an enrolment form needs to be completed. Once you have registered you have agreed to our terms & conditions.
