Course Description
This engaging one-day workshop provides an introduction to the co-operative model, exploring how co-operatives operate, the values and principles that underpin them, and the different forms they can take.
Through practical activities, case studies and discussion, you'll discover how co-operatives create social and economic benefits, support democratic decision-making and build stronger communities.
Whether you're interested in starting a co-op, supporting community-led projects, or simply learning more about alternative ways of organising businesses and services, this course will provide a solid foundation and plenty of inspiration.
No previous knowledge required.
Due to large numbers of people booking onto our courses and not turning up, we are now taking a £10 deposit for each course to help ensure attendance.
You will be eligible to get the deposit back if you attend every session. Or, if you can’t attend, you must:
· Email or contact the tutor or admin team on Learning@gcda.org.uk to let them know you can’t make it.
· Still attend at least 70% of the course. Do not book on if you think you cannot attend 70% of the course.
· You need to give us 24 hours notice if you will not be able to attend
· If you don’t show up and don’t get in touch, you will lose your deposit.
If leaving a £10 deposit is a barrier because of financial difficulties, please contact Learning@gcda.org.uk to talk to us about this
You must request the return of the deposit. The request must be made within 7 days of the course finishing. If you wish to leave the deposit as a donation to GCDA learning for future courses and resourses you may do so.
