Course Description
This creative writing course invites you to explore storytelling, poetry, and personal expression from a Black and Diaspora perspective, in collaboration with Scribes with Vibes, an emerging creative writing initiative supporting Black History 365.
This course is designed to help you develop your own stories and poems rooted in your lived experiences, everyday life, cultural lineage, and memories. The journey concludes with a celebration showcase event, sharing the creative work produced throughout the course.
Open to all levels and genres, the course offers a supportive and inclusive space to experiment, reflect, and grow. Through guided writing exercises, group discussion, and optional sharing, you will build confidence in your voice, strengthen your creative practice, and connect more deeply with yourself, your writing, and your community. Whether you are starting fresh or returning to an existing project, the course provides structure, accountability, and inspiration to support steady progress.
Through these sessions, Scribes with Vibes aims to spark ongoing creativity, encourage the sharing of stories, and help build a lasting legacy of writers, inspiring future generations to read, learn, and understand history through cultural and social perspectives
